Alpha-Ketoglutaric Acid (AKG) is a ketone derivative of glutaric acid which is found naturally in the human body where it has a number of functions including acting as an intermediate step in the Krebs cycle, helping to form amino acids, transporting nitrogen, and acting as an antioxidant. Directions & Dosage:
As a supplement for athletic performance, we recommend taking between 2-4 capsules of Alpha-Ketoglutaric Acid (1000 – 1500 mg) about an hour before competing. As a daily supplement for longevity, we recommend taking two capsules per day (1000 mg).
As AKG is water soluble it does not need to be taken with food for proper absorption. We do not recommend exceeding 4 capsules per day.
